Anger Management Program© for Self Referred or Court-Mandated Clients

At Manhattan Relationship Solutions, clients who are either self-referred or court mandated can request an individual, one-on-one, or a group anger management counseling program. The program typically runs in a 12 session sequence (one session every week), whereby clients learn essential skills to manage their anger and learn problem solving and relaxation techniques. Clients get the certificate of anger management training upon completion of the program.

Are you the right candidate for anger management program?

Candidates for anger management might include individuals who:

- have frequent conflicts with friends and/or family members
- exhibit oppositional behavior in school
- have difficulty with authority figures (i.e., teachers, coaches, employers, etc.)
- are easily provoked
- often feel angry
- tend to "bottle up" their feelings
- have difficulty staying calm when agitated
- tend to act before thinking
- have frequent anger outbursts
- have difficulty expressing their feelings
appropriately

The program is open to individuals and kids of all ages. We also provide Couples Anger Management counseling as well.

Anger Management Group Therapy typically consists of 12 sessions. The environment that is provided is safe, non-pathological, non-judgmental, and supportive. Here, clients learn:

- What triggers their anger
- The sequence of their anger
- How do they typically respond when angry and the resulting consequences of such
- Alternate ways for expressing their
anger more appropriately
- Strategies for managing their anger including self-talk, personal time-outs, problem solving, and relaxation
techniques
